•Madeline Shapley- 19 years of age when she died, brown eyed with dark brown hair calmly beautiful in her white linen dress the day she died.

•Letitia Gregg - 18 year old who failed to return home, frightened. Unlike Madeline, who had fought for her life, Letitia begged for mercy.

•Ellen Swain - small and quiet but was far too curious about the last hours of Letitia’s life.

 The protagonist

• Emily Graham - 32 year old, Divorced and a Criminal defence attorney. Wide brown eyes and long, full eyelashes. Midnight brown hair, tall and slender body.

The antagonist 

• The serial killer - knows every detail of everyone, stalker, obsessed with killing and weird.

• Eric Bailey - shy genius, little-boy-lost exterior and is gifted with massive intelligence.

• Will Stafford - lean six foot lawyer in his late 30’s, Broad shoulders, sandy hair and dark blue eyes.

• Tommy Duggan - Detective for fifteen of his forty- two years, married, fathered 2 sons and watched his pot belly grow. Has a round, good humoured face and a ready smile.
